Clinical Focus:
Anxiety and depressive disorders; bipolar disorders; life transitions, both individual and family. In all interventions, the impact of these disorders upon individual, family and social interaction are addressed in a developmental context. Utilizing a multi-dimensional approach, interventions include cognitive behavioral therapy, EMDR, relaxation/somatic techniques, Eidetic and guided imagery, as well as goal oriented therapies. Specific interventions embrace both psychological and physiological development of the individual in order to address issues and barriers in the most precise context.   I often collaborate with fellow clinicians in order to provide a comprehensive treatment approach. Treatment efforts are time limited, outcome oriented, and specifically geared to each unique individual.

Treatment Philosophy:
I hold an abiding belief that no matter how difficult a person’s circumstances may be, it is possible to produce meaningful change.  I view the therapeutic relationship as collaboration with my client on a unique journey towards self-enhancement, wellness and goal attainment.  My theoretical basis takes into consideration the developmental stage of not only the individual but the family as well.  In this effort, we explore the emotional and psychological demands of individuation, interpersonal and adaptive coping skill development.  As a client you are in complete control and may end our professional relationship at any point.  I will be supportive of that decision.  Ultimately, my job is to work myself out of a job, so that you can feel self-assured to carry on without my intervention.

Interests:
As a mother of adult children I find my life quite interesting, fun and fulfilling. I am an avid movie buff, reader of intriguing works, art collector, mountain hiker, island lover, work-out enthusiast, and the often-time host of family and friend get-togethers.  I enthusiastically embrace life and its challenges, unafraid to walk with my clients as they discover their true potential.
